Monday Night Football at SoFi Stadium delivered a bittersweet evening for the Los Angeles Rams. While Los Angeles earned a dominant 28-6 victory over the New York Giants, the main storyline turned toward a scary moment early in the first quarter when young quarterback Jaxson Dart went down with a knee injury. Following the contest, veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford shared a powerful message of support for the rising starter.

Stafford knows the brutal toll injuries take on an NFL career all too well. Speaking after the win, the former Super Bowl champion offered genuine empathy for Dart, “I just said I was pulling for him,” he said, via Cameron DaSilva of the Rams Wire. “I don’t expect him to tell me what’s going on but I just wanted to let him know that I was pulling for him. I want young guys in this league that play our position to play well. He’s doing a heck of a job. Hopefully he’s back sooner rather than later.”

While concern lingered for Dart, Stafford orchestrated a clinic on the field. The 38-year-old veteran threw for 327 passing yards and four touchdowns, dominating the New York secondary. His second score to wide receiver Davante Adams, an 11-yard touchdown pass—marked a major milestone. The play pushed Stafford past retired legend Philip Rivers for sole possession of sixth place on the NFL's all-time passing touchdown list with 426 career scoring strikes.

Adams proved unstoppable all night, burning the defense for eight catches, 195 receiving yards, and two touchdowns.

On the other side, New York struggled to find any offensive rhythm once Dart exited. Before his injury on a third-down pass attempt, Dart completed 3 of 5 passes for 20 yards. Backup quarterback Jameis Winston stepped in under center, but the Los Angeles defense held firm. Winston completed just 11 of 27 pass attempts for 111 yards and threw a key interception to defensive back Trent McDuffie.

Now sitting at 2-0 on the season, Los Angeles looks like a legitimate NFC contender. Beyond the stat sheet, Stafford proved why his leadership off the field matches his arm talent on it.
