The Las Vegas Raiders are trending downward with Kirk Cousins behind center. Even Cousins himself spoke out about the possibility of being benched by coach Klint Kubiak following the Los Angeles Rams rout. But looks like Fernando Mendoza won't step in anytime soon.
Kubiak shut that possibility down with these words toward the Vegas media on Monday.

“Fernando is going to play football. We have a plan. We don't have a timeline for that,” Kubiak said.
And despite Cousins' recent struggles, Kubiak doesn't see much setbacks from the veteran passer.
