The Detroit Pistons and Jalen Duren have been at a standstill all summer as the two sides can't come to an agreement on a contract extension. It's led Duren to separate himself from the team, and he didn't attend Media Day, nor was he present at the start of training camp.

The latest update on the Pistons' offer was five years, $200 million, but it also included a weight clause that Duren and his camp didn't like. Since then, the clause has been removed, according to The Athletic.

“Per league sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity as negotiations continue, the weight clause initially proposed as part of the Pistons’ five-year, $200 million offer is no longer part of the talks. The clause was never put in writing. That $200 million offer, which Duren has thus far not accepted, is fully guaranteed and includes no weight-related provisions,” The Athletic wrote.

This could be good news for the Pistons, making it a good chance that Duren decides to sign the extension. He has until the end of the day on Oct. 1 to either accept the deal or sign his one-year, $9.6 million qualifying offer that will allow him to become an unrestricted free agent next season.

Duren has made it known all offseason that he's willing to leave for another team, and the Sacramento Kings have been the No. 1 option on the list. The Milwaukee Bucks have also shown interest in Duren as well, but the Pistons are not interested in doing a sign-and-trade.

At this point, it looks like the Pistons are fine with either him signing their offer or taking the qualifying offer, and whatever happens in the end, just happens. As for Duren, there's no telling what he's thinking about doing, but he doesn't have long to make a decision.
