The Pittsburgh Pirates designated relief pitcher Camilo Doval for assignment after reinstating reliever Kirby Yates from the injured list, the team announced Tuesday. The move comes during the final week of the regular season.

“ROSTER MOVES: We have reinstated RHP Kirby Yates from the 15-Day IL. RHP Camilo Doval has been designated for assignment,” the Pirates announced on X, formerly Twitter.

Doval was acquired by the Pirates in early August before the trade deadline from the New York Yankees. Although his season ERA sits at 4.30 across 64 total games pitched, Doval did record a much more respectable 3.79 ERA in his 20 outings with the Pirates.
