With the New England Patriots taking on the Miami Dolphins in Week 8 on Sunday, the status of star wide receiver A.J. Brown is up in the air ahead of the game. As fans are looking for an update on Brown ahead of the Patriots' game against the Dolphins, head coach Mike Vrabel would speak on the matter, though briefly.
According to Mike Giaradi of The Boston Sports Journal, he noted that Vrabel's press conference on Friday was “short” and was not “keen to talk” about the injury to Brown. When asked whether Brown was rushed back to play after missing a chunk of the start of the season, he believes “those are separate issues.”
If there was one thing that Vrabel said about Brown's status for Sunday against Miami, it's that he's “questionable,” via Field Yates.
“No sign” of A.J. Brown during Patriots practice on Friday
Patriots reporter Mike Reiss at ESPN would note that there was “no sign” of Brown on Friday during the media-access portion of practice. With Brown dealing with knee and ankle injuries, offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels spoke about the health of the receiver and needing the offense to be better.
“He's played eight quarters in almost two months and had four practices, I think. I'm certainly in the mode of ‘this is a process of building into our best football.' We've seen that with pretty much every player that's come here,” McDaniels said, via ESPN.

If there's some element of things we need to wait on, we'll do it. I love his attitude and approach; he's been here working his tail off to try to put himself in a great position to help our team.”
So far this season, Brown has recorded nine catches for 101 yards in three games, as it remains to be seen what his status looks like for Sunday against Miami.
