Jonathan Brooks just can't break free of injury issues. The running back from Texas was drafted 46th overall in 2024 by the Carolina Panthers, making him the highest-drafted ball carrier that year. However, Brooks missed much of his rookie season while recovering from a torn ACL. He suffered the same injury just three games into his career and was forced to miss all of year two as well.

In 2026, Brooks was finally healthy and expected to make a big impact for a Panthers team with an underwhelming backfield. Chuba Hubbard was the only real threat to steal carries from the injury-prone back, but even he had been supplanted by Rico Dowdle last season.

Unfortunately, Brooks was hurt yet again during the second game of the season. A groin injury has the Texas product listed as week-to-week.
