The Carolina Panthers made some changes after their loss to the Green Bay Packers on Thursday Night Football, firing their defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero. This came as no surprise, especially with how the group had performed over the last few weeks, and Todd Wash is now the interim defensive coordinator.

The Panthers have also added some familiar help to the coaching staff, hiring DeAngelo Hall, according to Jonathan Jones of The Athletic.

“The Panthers are hiring DeAngelo Hall to help coach cornerbacks after recent staff shakeup, source tells The Athletic. The 3-time Pro Bowler was the team’s assistant DBs coach in ’23-24,” Jones wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

This should be good for a group that already has a lot of talent in that area, but the problem is that most of them are dealing with injuries. The hope is that the players who are actually out there can make an impact for the time being, and the Hall could be the person to help them.

Other than that, the entire defense needs to play better, and with a new (but familiar) voice like Wash in the locker room, things have a chance at getting better.

On offense, there are some things the Panthers can fix, but the most important objective is making sure that Bryce Young is healthy. Head coach Dave Canales believes that Young's knee has been bothering him, but after their loss to the Packers, the quarterback shut down those rumors.

“Yeah, I’m fine,” Young said via the team’s official website. “Everyone’s dealing with something at this point in the year. It’s football. Nothing like that is an excuse; go out there and play the game. I’m blessed to be able to do that. That’s all that matters.”
