The Green Bay Packers are riding high after their recent home win over the Chicago Bears to push their record to 3-2. The Packers seem to have mostly moved on from the bad vibes from the beginning of the season, although they are still playing without star running back Josh Jacobs.

Jacobs is currently on the Commissioner's Exempt list due to his arrest this offseason, ultimately pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges. The NFL is hoping to review footage of the altercation between Jacobs and his then-girlfriend in an attempt to make a fairer ruling on his discipline, but now, the league has gotten a big update in that regard.

“Packers running back Josh Jacobs has filed a civil suit seeking a permanent injunction restricting access to records from his May 23 altercation with a woman at his home,” reported Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com.

This would prevent the NFL from seeing the video of the incident.

Demovsky reported that “the lawsuits were filed Wednesday — one day after the Hobart/Lawrence Police Department announced it had approved the release of certain records with appropriate redactions but that a party or parties involved had appealed that decision.”

Any suspension that the NFL might hand down as part of the punishment would see Jacobs' time on the exempt list included as already being served.

Meanwhile, the Packers seem to be turning a corner, but they'd certainly like to have Jacobs back in the lineup sooner rather than later.

The Packers are next set to hit the field on Sunday evening with a home game against the Dallas Cowboys at 8:20 pm ET.
