Oregon wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan will miss an indefinite amount of time after suffering a broken foot during pregame warmups before Friday's 84-0 win over Portland State.

The injury removes the Ducks' leading receiver through their first two games just before No. ranked 20 Oregon opens Big Ten play Saturday vs. the No. 12 ranked USC Trojans. McClellan had seven catches for 170 yards and one touchdown before sitting out vs. Portland State.

On3 Sports took to its official X, formerly Twitter account on Monday night, relaying head coach Dan Lanning's diagnosis after Oregon evaluated McClellan following Friday's game at Autzen Stadium.

“NEW: Oregon WR Jeremiah McClellan has suffered a broken foot, Dan Lanning announced.

He is out indefinitely.”

McClellan warmed up in full pads Friday before appearing on the sideline in street clothes with a walking boot on his left foot and crutches. Lanning said after the game that the receiver had been “tweaked” during pregame and needed further evaluation.

That evaluation revealed the fracture, but Oregon has not announced a timetable for the junior wide receiver's return. Lanning's indefinite designation does not mean the Ducks have ruled him out for the season.

McClellan opened up 2026 with six receptions for 150 yards and a touchdown against Boise State on September 5. He entered this season after recording 38 catches for 557 yards and three touchdowns across 15 games as a sophomore in 2025.

His absence creates another challenge for an offense already managing injuries at tight end. Lanning said Monday that Jamari Johnson and Kendre Harrison will likely play against USC, but McClellan will not.

Oregon still has receiving options that include Evan Stewart and Dakorien Moore as the team prepares for their Big Ten opener. The Ducks head into Week 4 at 2-1 after rebounding from its loss at Oklahoma State with a dominant win over Portland State.
