The Baltimore Ravens have had a brutal last few days, first getting blown out on the road by the Buffalo Bills and then learning that Lamar Jackson might miss the rest of the year due to a thumb injury. Third-string quarterback Joe Fagnano appears to be in line to start on Thursday evening vs the Jacksonville Jaguars due to another injury sustained by backup Tyler Huntley.

With the Ravens now suddenly in dire straits regarding the quarterback position, NFL insider Jeremy Fowler of ESPN recently proposed a drastic trade idea that would see Baltimore try to save its season.

“…some conversations I had early this week made me think the Colts' Daniel Jones is at least on the radar. Baltimore could essentially sign him without spending a lot because of his struggles. Jones' $5.5 million base salary is tradable, and his 2027 guarantees don't trigger until the offseason,” he noted on ESPN.com.

The Colts have recently been holding a trade fire sale, starting with their trade of Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks, which has opened up the floodgates on speculation that Jones himself could also be on the move at some point this year.

If the Ravens are serious about not throwing in the towel on the season, Jones could be one of the best options available. Although he hasn't had a great year statistically, he is still less than a year removed from a torn Achilles injury and proved last year that he could consistently anchor an elite offense.

In any case, the Ravens are slated to kick things off against the Jaguars on Thursday at 8:15 pm ET from Baltimore.
