The NFL trade deadline is just a few weeks away on November 10th. That hasn't stopped some teams from getting ahead of the curve and making trades weeks in advance. Look at the Indianapolis Colts for example. They just traded Quenton Nelson to the Seahawks on Tuesday in a move that could kick off a complete fire sale. Nelson may not be the only Colts player to be traded to the Seahawks.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler ranked some of the top trade candidates in the NFL with Matt Bowen in a recent article. Colts running back Jonathan Taylor claimed the top spot on the list.

“Teams I've talked to aren't totally sold that Indianapolis will trade Taylor despite heavy interest — at least not yet,” Fowler wrote. “He is signed long term and would be a boon for next year's coaching staff, whether it's the current group or entirely new. But what Kenneth Walker III has done for Kansas City shows how a premier running back can put on new jersey colors and immediately reimagine a team's season. And the tenor of Indy's season is getting ugly, which affects all key players and could spark even more movement.”

Fowler and Bowen named multiple teams as potential fits for Taylor. They included Seattle on that list alongside Washington, New Orleans, Denver, and Minnesota.

The fit with the Seahawks makes too much sense. Seattle's running game has struggled after losing Walker this offseason to Kansas City. Zach Charbonnet is yet to return and Jadarian Price has not been a bell cow running back despite being picked in the first round.

If Seattle did add Taylor, they would gain an elite back who could do some damage in Brian Fleury's offense.

The Seahawks are projected to have 11 selections in the 2027 NFL Draft. Seattle can afford to acquire Taylor, even if Indy demands a ridiculous price.

It will be fascinating to see if the Colts explore a Taylor deal before the trade deadline.
