The Detroit Pistons and Jalen Duren have still not come to an agreement on a new extension, as both sides seem to be only $10 million apart. While the Pistons are willing to offer him $190 million, Duren has been standing on business and sticking with his $200 million desire.

Along with him wanting that amount of money, he's letting the Pistons know that he's willing to move on to the Sacramento Kings next offseason, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer.

“Coming up now to the very final wire here, he's gonna have, until the start of training camp, to either accept the Pistons' latest offer or to accept the qualifying offer and move forward, betting on himself with a chance to enter unrestricted free agency next summer,” Fischer said on Bleacher Report.

“Jalen Duren is emboldened to some degree to potentially take that qualifying offer, because he knows that the Sacramento Kings have a lot of interest in potentially giving him a maximum salary contract next summer, if he were to reach unrestricted free agency. The tricky thing there is that Sacramento is also a team that Jonathan Kuminga believes will be waiting to give him a significant payday if he were to reach unrestricted free agency next season.”

The Kings have been the one team since the start of the offseason that has shown interest in Duren. Since they couldn't get him this go-round, there's no doubt that they'll be coming to get him next offseason if the Pistons don't give Duren the contract he wants.

It's an interesting thing for your current team to know that you're willing to sign with a specific team next season, but this is where things have gotten with Duren and the Pistons, and it wouldn't be a surprise if things got more chaotic when training camp arrives.
