Shooting

  • Fixed “ghost contests” where defenders who weren't truly contesting still hurt the shot. Contests now properly factor in defender position at release and require defenders to be more squarely in front of the shooter.
  • Fine-tuned Shooting to better reward good shot selection. Increased effectiveness of open shots from quality shooters & mid-range gets a boost in competitive modes, and slightly rebalanced overall three-point percentages.
  • Improved determination of shot range for several shooting badges, resulting in more accurate badge activation.
  • Improved missed shot rebounds by reducing multiple rim bounces, reducing near-out-of-bounds results, and fixing a leftward bounce bias.
  • Reduced missed dunks when Dunk Timing turns off.
  • Fixed an issue where dunks and alley-oops could be missed even with correct timing on the dunk meter.
  • Contact dunks succeed more often at every badge level of Rise Up.
  • Tuned several Takeovers: Shot Artist, Calibrated, and Navigator have adjusted timing windows, Navigator and Airspace make defense matter more, and Airspace and Detonator reduce dunk frequency and success. Rim Guardian now counters Airspace.
  • Bad Shot Selection event no longer triggers incorrectly on greened layups and dunks or decent mid and 3PT shot attempts.

Passing & Catching

  • Improved passing and catching, including fewer missed catches and collisions with defenders, better pass responsiveness in a body-up, and slightly faster pass speeds. Also fixed the inbounder being incorrectly called for out of bounds after an inbound pass.

Defense & Steals

  • Better matched Steal animations to the stealer's rating, and now properly penalize low-rated or out-of-adrenaline defenders on failed attempts.
  • CPU defenders now play looser on-ball and off-ball defense at the start of the game. Once a player starts scoring, the AI will eventually defend them with a higher intensity. We will continue to monitor the effects of AI intensity behavior on human players.

Dribbling

  • Fixed an issue where Behind-the-Back Escape commands would randomly result in a standard behind-the-back dribble.

  • Tightened the requirements for anklebreakers so only hard decelerations and quick launches qualify.
