Last month, it was reported that MLB Network's longest running talk show, Intentional Talk, would be coming to an end in early November following the conclusion of the World Series. That is no longer the case, according to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic.

“Last month’s decision to cancel MLB Network’s ‘Intentional Talk' studio show after 16 seasons has been reversed, sources briefed on the decision, but not authorized to speak publicly, told The Athletic,” Marchand reported.

The show currently features former MLB players Kevin Millar and Ryan Dempster as well as host Sierra Santos. Intentional Talk originally began in 2011. The show was initially hosted by Chris Rose along with Millar. Stephen Nelson also briefly hosted the show.

It provided a new outlook on the way baseball was covered. Millar and Rose participated in wacky segments that captivated younger and older viewers alike. Interviews with athletes allowed fans to get to know who the players were behind the scenes.

Rose and Millar worked together on Intentional Talk through 2020. Nelson joined the Boston Red Sox's World Series champion after MLB Network moved on from Rose in 2021. Santos and Dempster joined the show in 2023 following Nelson's departure.

Kevin Millar has become the face of the show given his longevity on it. Fans and players have supported the show for years, which, according to Marchand, played a key role in commissioner Rob Manfred and MLB deciding to ultimately keep it on the air.

Intentional Talk avoiding cancellation is a win both for MLB Network and baseball itself.
