Mississippi State Bulldogs quarterback Kamario Taylor was forced to leave in the first quarter of the 23-15 Week 8 loss to the Oklahoma Sooners after sustaining a lower-body injury. He never returned, and his status for the Week 9 matchup against the No. 11 Texas Longhorns has been up in the air for several days. Until now, as new reports reveal he will miss the rest of the season.

Taylor must undergo surgery on his injured toe, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel. While the sophomore signal-caller is expected to make a full recovery, he will have to miss the remainder of the 2026-27 campaign.

“Sources: Mississippi State star QB Kamario Taylor will miss the rest of the season, as he faces surgery on his injured toe,” Thamel reported. “Taylor has an appointment today to get his toe checked out by a specialist and could have surgery as early as tomorrow. He’s expected to make a full recovery.”
