On Monday evening, the Dallas Cowboys got back into the win column with a dominant road win over the Philadelphia Eagles in primetime. While it wasn't always a great performance for the Cowboys' defense in this one, Dallas ultimately did enough to get out of town with a 38-21 road win.
Now, the Cowboys sit at 3-4 on the season, and their playoff odds have shifted as a result, now sitting at -105 to make the playoffs, per BetOnline.
A large part of these odds, despite Dallas' losing record, can be attributed to the fact that they play in the NFC East. The Eagles have been a disaster all season and recently learned that quarterback Jalen Hurts would be out for the season, while the Washington Commanders have also failed to recapture their 2024 form so far this season.
The upstart New York Giants currently sit in first place in the division at 4-2-1, but many pundits expect them to eventually take a step back as the tougher opponents start to mount on their schedule, which would open the door for the Cowboys to climb back into the driver's seat in the division.
The Cowboys finally had a game in which both their defense and offense played respectable football on Monday night, as for a while, it seemed that only one of the two units was capable of showing up in the same contest.
Article Continues BelowWhile beating the Eagles in 2026 isn't exactly a great litmus test, there's still something to be said about taking care of lesser competition, and Dallas did exactly that on Monday.
In any case, the Cowboys will next hit the field on Sunday for a home game vs the Arizona Cardinals.
