Mississippi State star running back Fluff Bothwell, who is second in the SEC in rushing yards this season, carried the ball once against Alabama before leaving Saturday's game with a lower-body injury.

ESPN's Katie George reported that it was a pre-existing injury for Bothwell, who was seen on the sideline in shorts and a walking boot.

He entered Saturday's game with 402 yards and three touchdowns on 73 carries.

Mississippi State lists Kolin Wilson and Xavier Gayten as co-backups at running back. Wilson is third on the team with 21 carries. He has rushed for 104 yards this season.
