Mike Vrabel was Malik Willis’ head coach for the first two years of the quarterback’s career.
A Titans third-round pick in 2022, Willis appeared in eight games with three starts under Vrabel as a rookie and then another three games in 2023.
The two will be on opposite sidelines on Sunday, as the Dolphins face the Patriots in South Florida.
Vrabel told reporters on Monday that working with Willis in Nashville was great.
“Malik’s continued to develop, and that’s the thing that I’m proud of him for, and I know that he should be proud of himself to continue to battle and go to Green Bay,” Vrabel said, via transcript from the team. “I try to stay in communication with him, tell him congrats and that I’m happy for him, and then he gets a deal in Miami.
“He’s very talented. He’s got a strong arm, can throw at different platforms. He’s a strong runner. I think he’s starting to see things a little quicker, a little clearer, just as he’s developed in the NFL.”
Through six games in 2026, Willis has completed 57.6 percent of his passes for 1,057 yards with four touchdowns and four interceptions. He’s also rushed for 223 yards with three TDs.
