The Green Bay Packers are 1-1 with the Atlanta Falcons headed to Lambeau Field and new NFLPA player rep Micah Parsons still rehabbing his left knee after last year's torn ACL injury. Parsons' timeline to return still isn't fully clear, and neither is wide receiver Jayden Reed's after a scary Week 2 injury.
The Packers are set to take on the 1-1 Bears in Week 5, which could set up an exciting storyline according to LockedOnPackers' Peter Bukowski.
âÂÂIf Micah Parsons practices next week, there's an outside shot that Packers-Bears is the return of Caleb Williams (right hamstring) and Parsons,â Bukowski said. âÂÂThat would be pretty sick.âÂÂ
Parsons has recorded five straight seasons of ten-plus sacks and is one of the NFL's best pass rushers, but he tore the ACL in his left knee and suffered meniscus damage in the process during the 2025-26 season. Williams' hamstring injury was of the non-contact variety in a close fourth quarter game against the Vikings, as the Bears QB appeared lacking in patience on a dash for the end zone.
The Packers look like one of the NFL's best pass-rushing teams headed into Week 3, with Lukas Van Ness playing like an NFL All-Pro. Coach Matt LaFleur's Packers recorded three sacks without Parsons against the Jets, half of which came from Van Ness. Jordan Love didn't play his best, but the defense picked him up in a close win.
Williams and the Bears' head coach Ben Johnson ate Johnson's words of wanting to be âÂÂthe best offense in NFL historyâ last week against the Vikings and have officially been humbled. The Packers will look to continue that trend in Week 5, with or without Parsons as the NFL season starts to become more intriguing in a entirely new ways.
