LOS ANGELES -- After the Rams' comeback victory over the Eagles in Philadelphia on Sunday, several videos surfaced of some Los Angeles assistant coaches interacting with the home fans from the coach's booth.
In the videos, posted on the social media platform X on Sunday night, an assistant coach appears to bang on the glass and then gesture at Eagles fans sitting in the stands below the booth after the Rams' go-ahead touchdown. One video shows a cup and then a water bottle thrown from the stands at the glass windows of the booth.
Rams head coach Sean McVay said he and the assistant coaches talked about the incident, saying, "We'll be better in those situations."
The Rams came back after trailing 20-10 with 8 minutes and 17 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. According to ESPN Analytics, the Eagles' win probability peaked at 97.4% at that moment, with Philadelphia on the Los Angeles two yard line. The Rams scored touchdowns with 3:59 and 1:45 remaining to win the game.
McVay acknowledged he has been in a similar situation in Washington when he was calling plays from the booth, saying, "you get excited and emotional."
"We'll learn from that," McVay said. "We'll be better. Those fans are really into it, but I know that we want to make sure that we're representing the class and just the calm steadiness that we want to have while also being emotionally into it. And there's ways that we can have that reflected.
"We did talk about it and that won't be an issue moving forward."
