As Cooper Flagg prepares for his second NBA season with the Dallas Mavericks, the reigning Rookie of the Year confirmed that he grew during the offseason. However, the 21-year-old shut down rumors that he has reached 6-foot-11.
Brad Townsend of The Dallas Morning News shared Flagg’s confirmation Friday on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Cooper Flagg confirms that he’s grown from 6-9 last season to 6-10 now, ‘but not 6-11,’ contrary to rumors,” Townsend wrote.
Flagg entered the NBA listed at 6-foot-9 after the Mavericks selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. Now standing 6-foot-10, the added size could provide another advantage for a forward who already showcased his versatility on both ends of the floor during his first season.
Flagg finished his rookie campaign averaging 21.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He shot 46.8% from the field and 29.5% from 3-point range across 70 appearances while averaging 33.5 minutes per contest.

Dallas finished last season with a 26-56 record and placed 12th in the Western Conference. The Mavericks will enter the upcoming campaign with Flagg expected to take another step forward alongside a roster that will also welcome Kyrie Irving back to the lineup.
Irving has been working his way back from the torn ACL he suffered in March 2025. His return gives Dallas another proven offensive option as the franchise attempts to climb back into the Western Conference playoff picture.
With training camp set to begin next week, Flagg's development will remain one of the biggest storylines surrounding the Mavericks. While the rumors of a growth spurt to 6-foot-11 proved exaggerated, the reigning Rookie of the Year will officially enter his second season an inch taller than he was as a rookie.
