The Carolina Panthers silenced their critics in Week 2. Carolina absolutely thrashed Atlanta in a 34-3 beatdown last weekend after getting destroyed by Chicago in Week 1. Unfortunately, the Panthers will be without one defensive star who helped lead them to victory against the Falcons.
Panthers linebacker Devin Lloyd, the reigning Defensive Player of the Week, is ruled out on the final injury report and will not play in Week 3, per ESPN's Mike Kaye. Lloyd is dealing with a calf injury.
Head coach Dave Canales said Lloyd did not get to a point where Carolina felt comfortable playing him this weekend, per Steve Reed. The Panthers are clearly taking the safe path with their star linebacker.
In other Panthers injury news, Nick Scott (rib) and Claudin Cherelus (shoulder) were also ruled out for Week 3. Receivers Jalen Coker (ankle) and Xavier Legette (knee) are listed as questionable.
