While Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is dealing with an elbow injury, suffered in last Sunday's 37-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, there is good news that suggests it is not as bad as it originally looked. As the Commanders and Daniels decided to avoid surgery and a stint on the injured reserve, head coach Dan Quinn gave his thoughts on the matter.

The injury specifically happened in the final play of the first half of the aforementioned Cowboys loss, where, after offensive lineman Chris Paul accidentally stepped on Daniels' foot, he tried to break his fall, leading his elbow to bend backward.

Speaking to the media on Friday, Quinn called it “great news” that Daniels won't need surgery for his elbow and a stint on the injured reserve, as the star will be considered “week-to-week, according to Andrew Siciliano.

The news comes from NFL insider Albert Breer, who reported that Daniels visited multiple specialists this past week, which led to Washington and the quarterback coming to the decision to “forgo surgery.”

“Commanders QB Jayden Daniels traveled to New York and Los Angeles this week, and met with multiple specialists in both places, leading to his and the team's decision to go forward with the plan to forgo surgery and bring Daniels back in the coming weeks,” Breer wrote on X Friday, formerly Twitter.

With Daniels out for Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks, Marcus Mariota will get the start, as the injured signal-caller will wear a brace “over his left elbow,” as a decision for Week 4 in London, England looms.

“He'll wear a brace over his left elbow; he's week-to-week, and HC Dan Quinn's only ruled him out for the Seattle game,” Breer continued. “The Commanders go to London to play the Colts in Week 4, and the team will have to make a decision soon on whether or not to bring Daniels with them—they actually leave Tuesday night.”

At any rate, it remains to be seen if Daniels will come back to the Commanders for Week 4 on Sunday, Oct. 4.
