The craze surrounding Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark had Stephanie White comparing her to the standout guard's friend and pop star Taylor Swift.
Speaking to The Athletic, White talked about the crazy year Clark has had, from starring in State Farm ads to hugging Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis, dubbing her “Taylor Swift 2.0.”
She may have a point. Clark has been transformative for the WNBA, bringing a lot of eyes and attention to the league. She's now seen in commercials everywhere.
In December 2025, White spoke to the Bird's Eye View podcast to explain the comparison. She raved about the three-time All-Star's work ethic.
“She’s a hard worker because of what she’s been able to accomplish,” White praised. “But until you see that there’s no wasted movements, no wasted reps, no wasted anything. You just have such a level of respect for how she goes about her work every day. And understanding the spotlight that she’s on, understanding the weight that she carries because of who she is.
Article Continues Below“I’ve said this before, like she’s literally Taylor Swift 2.0. And that somehow she’s able to compartmentalize and come to the gym and get everything that she has to get done. She’s off doing everything all the time, but when she’s there, she’s working,” White added.
Luckily, Clark was able to return to form after an injury-riddled sophomore season in 2025. She played in 40 games compared to 13 last season.
Clark averaged a career-high 22.3 points per game. However, she had her lowest averages in rebounds (four) and assists (8.3) per game.
The team has won 28 games, four more than in 2025, and is the sixth seed in the playoffs. The Fever finished in third place in the Eastern Conference.
