With the No. 25 Boise State football team looking to continue its winning ways as it prepares for a matchup against Colorado State on Saturday, there is a big question mark surrounding the injury status of quarterback Maddux Madsen. As Boise State football head coach Spencer Danielson looks to lead the program regardless, the latest update on Madsen is one that could have fans concerned.
According to college football insider Pete Nakos, the Broncos quarterback did not practice on Thursday and is listed as “questionable” for the contest, as he is dealing with a knee injury that was sustained in the 46-45 win over Texas State last Saturday.
“Boise State QB Maddux Madsen remains questionable and did not practice today. The No. 25 Broncos are at Colorado State on Saturday,” Nakos wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Danielson would say Monday that Madsen is considered “day-to-day,” and that the injury that the quarterback is dealing with is not “long-term.”
“He's going to be back here soon,” Danielson said, via 247 Sports. “He's going to be more day-to-day. Really good to hear that it's not going to be long-term. He's in really positive spirits. And thank the good Lord that it's not serious.”

“Feel really good that it's not going to be season ending,” Danielson continued.
So far this season, Madsen has thrown for 1,681 yards to go along with 15 touchdowns and one interception, as Max Cutforth came into the Texas State win and threw for 131 yards and three touchdowns in the fourth quarter. It remains to be seen if Madsen will be available for Saturday evening's game.
