The Texas Rangers have a chance to win the American League West this season, despite having a mediocre year. Rangers pitcher MacKenzie Gore looks to help his team as the season nears its end.

“MacKenzie Gore (muscle spasms) said he plans on making his next start (likely early in the Mets series) so long as the next few days of throwing go fine,” Rangers reporter Shawn McFarland posted to X, formerly Twitter. “He said it’s still a day-to-day thing but believes they figured out how to prevent the spasms from happening again.”

Gore has eight wins on the season. He has posted a 4.67 ERA, in 32 starts for the club. This is Gore's first season with Texas after playing the last few years for the Washington Nationals.

Gore pitched four innings for Texas on September 16, against the Boston Red Sox. He allowed two hits and three earned runs.

“The left-hander dealt with muscle spasms in his mid-back and shoulder during his start and saw his velocity drop. Gore still completed four innings in Texas' 7-3 victory but was removed after 69 pitches,” Yahoo Sports reported.
