The Green Bay Packers got a much-needed win in Week 2. Green Bay defeated New York 20-17 in a comeback victory in overtime to avoid falling to 0-2. The Packers have enjoyed breakout seasons from multiple defensive players through the first two weeks.

Packers edge rusher Lukas Van Ness has received his flowers after dominating to start the season. But one analyst recently shouted out a different Packers defender who is playing like an All-Pro.

Mike Renner of CBS Sports highlighted the play of Packers defensive back Javon Bullard following their Week 2 victory.

“LVN isn't the only Packers defenders who's made a leap. 3rd-year DB Javon Bullard has looked like an All-Pro in the slot (when he's not drawing flags),” Renner wrote on Monday.

Renner added a few clips of Bullard making plays to his post to really drive his point home.

Bullard played quite well against the Jets in Week 2. He logged seven total tackles with two passes defensed  in the overtime win. Bullard is Green Bay's starter in the slot and also plays some snaps as a safety closer to the line of scrimmage. He gives the Packers flexibility to do some unique packages on defense while playing alongside Xavier McKinney and Evan Williams in the secondary.

But there's no question that Van Ness has helped out the secondary immensely through two weeks. Van Ness finished Week 2 with 10 total tackles, four tackles for loss, four quarterback hits, and 1.5 sacks. He has 14 total tackles with 2.5 sacks so far this season.

Green Bay is fortunate to have young players like Van Ness and Bullard stepping up early in the season. Hopefully they can hold down the fort long enough for Micah Parsons to return fully healthy.

In the meantime, the Packers need to keep stacking wins to stay competitive in the NFC North.
