The Los Angeles Lakers recently announced a new book detailing the franchise’s history from the Minneapolis days to the present, complete with essays penned by various influential figures, including players and coaches, throughout the team’s illustrious history. Current Lakers star Luka Doncic contributed words to the book, and he will no doubt have the fanbase fired up for the upcoming season.
“I’m a Laker now. I’m not sure that I could ever have imagined being here and wearing the purple and gold. It’s a wonderful surprise and it feels amazing and now I desperately want to win it all. I won’t rest until we win more championships,” Doncic wrote. “I used to let my game do most of the talking, but I want Lakers fans to know that I am ready, excited and eager to deliver … This is a city that is used to winning and winning big. I am so honored and grateful that I get the chance now to write my own championship chapters.”
Luka Doncic will be entering his second full season with the Lakers after the shocking trade with the Dallas Mavericks ahead of the 2024-25 deadline. The six-time All-Star had last season cut short due to a hamstring injury, but he is healthy now and ready for training camp.

The former lottery pick appeared in 64 games last season at a little over 35 minutes per game. He averaged a league-leading 33.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 1.6 steals with splits of 47.6 percent shooting from the field, 36.6 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 78 percent shooting from the free-throw line.
The Lakers will open the 2025-26 season at home on Oct. 21 against the Golden State Warriors.
