Despite her standout performance, Breanna Stewart and the New York Liberty failed to finish off the Atlanta Dream in Game 2 of their semifinal series, losing in overtime, 101-98, at State Farm Arena on Wednesday.

The Liberty are now in a do-or-die situation after also bowing in Game 1, 92-82.

Stewart made history with her all-around output of 35 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, and two blocks in a laudable effort, but the Dream made the necessary plays in the extension to escape with the hard-earned victory.

In the postgame conference, Stewart called out the referees for giving her wrong information, as reported by FIBA's Grady Diaz.

“This is not blaming the refs, but when I ask both refs if we have a reset timeout at the end, and they tell us no, and then we leave the game with the reset timeout, it's pretty frustrating,” said the three-time champion.

A reset timeout is a special late-game stoppage in the WNBA that allows a team to advance the ball to the frontcourt and make substitutions, but forbids any bench huddle.
