A couple of days before his Law & Order: Special Victims Unit debut, New York Knicks captain Jalen Brunson broke his silence on his latest acting gig.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026, Brunson was asked what his time was like on the Law & Order set. He couldn't emphasize how “fun” it was enough.
“Fun. Really fun. A lot of fun. Like, a lot of fun,” Brunson emphasized before telling reporters, “Guess you'll have to watch and let me know how I did.”

His appearance on Law & Order will reunite him with Knicks fan and close friend Mariska Hargitay, who leads Law & Order as Olivia Benson.
Fortunately, Brunson and his teammates will have off when his episode airs on Thursday, Nov. 5. They will play the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday, Nov. 4, before visiting the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday, Nov. 7.
After starting their season 0-3, the defending champion Knicks have won three of their last four. They just beat their in-state rivals, the Brooklyn Nets, on Monday, Nov. 2.
Knicks captain Jalen Brunson's Law & Order: SVU debut
Brunson will play Detective Madison—perhaps a tongue-in-cheek reference to the Knicks' home arena, Madison Square Garden, in the upcoming episode of Law & Order: SVU on Nov. 5. It will air at 9 pm EST on NBC.
Not much is known about his role. The teaser showed Hargitay's Olivia Benson approaching him for help. She needs “backup,” and the Knicks' captain may be what she needs.
This is Brunson's acting debut. While he doesn't have a lot of acting experience, he did host the Season 52 premiere of Saturday Night Live (SNL) right before training camp started in September 2026.
The captain is off to a solid start to his season. Brunson is averaging 24.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game. He is coming off back-to-back seasons with the Knicks, where he averaged 26 points per game.
