The New York Knicks are just over one month away from kicking off their 2026-27 NBA season at home against the Philadelphia 76ers as they begin their title defense. Recently, fans were outraged at some of the prices being listed for tickets to get into Madison Square Garden for that game and others on the upcoming schedule.

Now, the Knicks have released a statement clarifying that this was a mistake.

“Knicks just sent a release recognizing they made a mistake on their ticket pricing this week and ‘will restart sales with new prices shortly.' Anyone who already purchased tickets will be refunded the difference. ‘Our intention was never to overcharge our loyal fans,'” reported Fred Katz of The Athletic on X, formerly Twitter.

Of course, the new ticket sales likely aren't going to be cheap, as Knicks tickets are routinely far and away the most expensive in the NBA, previously solely due to the team's location in New York City, and now due to the fact that they are also the reigning champs.

Some fans paid well into the six figures just to get into the building to see the Knicks take on the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals this past spring, but for New Yorkers, it was well worth the price of entry, as the team ended up hoisting its first Larry O'Brien Trophy in 53 years.

It's sure to be a packed house at Madison Square Garden when the Knicks hit the floor to host LeBron James and the 76ers on October 20.
