Klint Kubiak: I enjoy that our team's 2-0, but no one's made the playoffs going 2-0

There might be a little something brewing with the Raiders.

The club has started 2-0 for the first time since 2021. Klint Kubiak is the first head coach to begin his tenure with the franchise 2-0 since Bill Callahan back in 2002.

But Kubiak isn’t putting too much stock in the team’s hot start.

“I enjoy that our team is 2-0, our organization is 2-0,” Kubiak said in his Monday press conference, via transcript from the team. “No one’s made the playoffs going 2-0.”

Still, when beginning a head coaching tenure, a hot start is particularly valuable.

“I think it just reinforces the messages that we’ve been sending,” Kubiak said. “Our guys have been very coachable, and our guys want to win. Winning is important to this team, it’s important to this coaching staff. We also have very short memories and know that you can only win one at a time.

“And so, we’re turning the page, and now we get to prepare to play a really good Saints team.”

After a game at home and a game in Los Angeles with a favorable crowd, the Raiders will travel to New Orleans to take on the Saints for what could be a sneaky good game in Week 3.
