The Las Vegas Raiders forced Los Angeles Charger fans into disarray following their 26-14 Sunday romp. And they rolled to the road win without star tight end Brock Bowers. Yet head coach Klint Kubiak dropped a pivotal injury tease on that front postgame.

Kubiak stirred interest among Raiders nation with this six-word message on where Bowers stands.

“Close, very close. He looks great,” Kubiak told reporters after the game. 

Vegas watched a new receiving hero rise out of the blue at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. Wide receiver Cody White surprisingly handed the Bolts fits. And White earned an elevation from the practice squad on the eve of Sunday's divisional showdown.

White grabbed two touchdowns on the afternoon. Including this highly contested grab that looked Bowers-like.

But that wasn't the last time Kirk Cousins and White connected inside the end zone. The quarterback threw this wide open pass for the dagger, sending Charger fans into shambles and hitting the exits.

So the Raiders have a new weapon on their hands in White. Yet the franchise and the fanbase knows how impactful Bowers is when healthy.

Bowers got ruled inactive ahead of the first road game of the 2026 season for Vegas. But he also didn't record any stats against the Miami Dolphins in the week one opener. Yet the Raiders steamrolled past the AFC East foe there, winning 27-13 inside Allegiant Stadium.

Vegas is now 2-0 overall under its new head coach, who came over via the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. Kubiak's championship experience is clearly rubbing off on the Raiders. Now Vegas can go 3-0 for the first time since 2021's playoff season by beating the New Orleans Saints next Sunday.
