Miami Heat fans earned a brief glimpse into newcomer Klay Thompson Thursday. Forming a dominating tandem with Giannis Antetokounmpo is on the mind of coach Erik Spoelstra. But Thompson just evoked memories of an iconic moment involving ex-Spoelstra player Ray Allen against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Thompson showed his famed catch-and-shoot side that made him revered with the Golden State Warriors. But he hit this corner three-pointer from the same spot Allen hit during Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals.

That Allen three against the San Antonio Spurs became the go-ahead points of the pivotal Game 6. Chris Bosh delivered one last block to help force the seventh deciding game. Miami eventually wrapped up the series 4-3, becoming the franchise's last Larry O'Brien Trophy.

Thompson is gaining his footing during the NBA Preseason. He walks into a place with immense expectations following some epic moves during the offseason. So Miami is turning to past NBA Finals winners to reignite some championship chatter. Thompson and Antetokounmpo have won a combined five titles between them, with the former helping form the Warriors dynasty alongside Steph Curry and Draymond Green.

Thompson is showing his prowess early and what he can bring to the Heat. But Miami fans will hope to see more of that once the regular season starts up for the Heat.
