Justin Jefferson is not happy with how the Minnesota Vikings offense is being inconsistent despite a hot start to the 2026 NFL season.
Jefferson is halfway through the seventh season of his career with the Vikings. He shines as one of the best receivers in the league, often helping them be in the mix for playoff contention.
Minnesota is enjoying an incredible start to the season. They were the last undefeated team standing before losing to the Detroit Lions in Week 8.
However, the offense has gone through underwhelming performances. Jefferson has suffered as a result, seeing his superstar displays become less frequent. He spoke with media on Thursday, wanting to see the offense take a big step in the right direction and prevent a significant slide in the second half of the campaign.
“It was wanting to win,” Jefferson said, via ESPN. “And I felt like we had plenty of opportunities to win that game and we only hurt ourselves in multiple ways. It's just wanting better from the whole entire offense especially. And I feel like the potential and the guys that we have in that room is something very, very special. I feel like we're wasting that if not going out there executing the plays that we have called and just not living to that standard that we feel like we live up to every single day.”
What lies ahead for Justin Jefferson, Vikings
Justin Jefferson knows he is very capable of booming with big performances. The Vikings just need to give him more attention so the offense can be more explosive.
Minnesota has a 6-1 record this season, sitting at the top spot of the NFC North Division standings. They are above the Chicago Bears and the Detroit Lions at the moment. In terms of the conference standings, they are second place. They lead over the New York Giants and the Carolina Panthers while being under the San Francisco 49ers.
The Vikings will continue preparations for their upcoming matchup this weekend, being at home. They host the Buffalo Bills in Week 9 as kickoff commences on Nov. 9 at 8:15 p.m. ET.
