As the Los Angeles Lakers prepare for the upcoming season with training camp right around the corner, the team is entering a new phase as the LeBron James-era of the franchise is over, with the star signing with the Philadelphia 76ers. With the Lakers' roster no longer featuring James, head coach JJ Redick would make a claim about the players that will no doubt catch everybody's attention.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Redick claimed that for the “first time in my three years,” the “pieces actually fit together” when it comes to the roster.

“And I think with this group, probably the first time in my three years here that I feel like the pieces actually fit together,” Redick said. “And so those roles probably get even more crystallized. And, you know, give you the wing thing, like there's a very clear ask for you to be able to play, and if you don't do those things, then you're not going to play.”

“That's just the reality,” Redick continued. “We've already had some of those conversations this week with our players. We have high, high confidence in these guys that they're going to buy into that, and so it's going to naturally create a lot of healthy competition, and everybody at some point inevitably will get a chance to impact our team and impact winning.”
