Both Derrick Rose and Josh Giddey represent two generations of the Chicago Bulls. Rose brought the Bulls back to prominence during his time. Meanwhile, Giddey is hoping to steer the ship in a new direction after years of underperformance.
Undoubtedly, they are inextricably linked for eternity.
Both met on the fairways of the PGA Tour's Presidents Cup at Medinah Country Club in Medinah, IL, per Rose's Instagram/Chicago Bulls Times.

Rose's Flower Shop designed the bouquet surrounding the cup trophy. Thursday marked the beginning of the first round of the Presidents Cup. The tournament features two 12-player teams: the U.S. team and the international team.
Competitors include Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas, Si Woo Kim, and Nick Taylor.
Article Continues BelowRose became an iconic figure in Chicago after his hometown team drafted him in 2008. In 2009, he was named the NBA Rookie of the Year. Two years later, Rose won NBA MVP honors and led the Bulls to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Last January, Rose had his jersey retired alongside Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Bob Love, and Jerry Sloan. This solidified his place among the elite in franchise history.
Meanwhile, Giddey is poised to begin his third season with the Bulls. Last year, he averaged 17.0 points, 9.1 assists, and 8.3 rebounds per game.
In July 2025, Giddey signed a four-year, $100 million deal. Chicago is on the cusp of a season defined by a rebuilding mindset, with a young core leading the way.
The Bulls preseason begins Oct. 7 against the Phoenix Suns. The Presidents Cup goes until Sunday, Sept. 27.
