The Chiefs don’t run quarterback sneaks with Patrick Mahomes and they may not do it again with Justin Fields.

Head coach Andy Reid called Fields’s number on a third-and-1 from Kansas City’s 34-yard-line in the first quarter and the Jets defense stuffed the former Jets quarterback for no gain. Things wound up getting even worse for the Chiefs after a challenge by Jets head coach Aaron Glenn.

Officials ruled that Fields fumbled the ball and Jets linebacker Demario Davis recovered to give the Jets the ball in field goal range.

They would only pick up four yards on the next three plays and Jason Sanders’s second field goal of the day stretched the Jets’ lead to 6-0.
