The New York Jets came very close to a signature win for the second week in a row. New York suffered a heartbreaking loss to Detroit, losing 31-24 in a game that could have easily gone either way. To make matters worse, the Jets picked up a handful of injuries that could be problems moving forward.
The most concerning injury involving star running back Breece Hall. New York's starting running back left the game with a thigh injury during the second half. Hall is often the engine of New York's offense, so losing him for an extended period of time would be a big deal.
Based on Hall's recent comments, Jets fans may want to brace for impact.
Hall said that he “felt something” when he got hurt, per The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt. However, Hall does not yet know the exact details of his injury. He will likely undergo further testing to determine the severity of the injury.
Rosenblatt added that Hall “was pretty sullen” when talking about the injury.
Hall's attitude, paired with his concerning comment about the injury, paint an ugly picture for the Jets. There is no question that Hall is one of New York's best playmakers on offense. The Jets would be seriously behind the eight ball if Hall misses multiple weeks with a potential injury.
There's also the fact that Hall has a somewhat lengthy injury history. Adding one more to that list could shorten the length of Hall's NFL career, depending on the severity of course.
Jets fans should keep their eyes peeled for an update on Hall in the coming days. New York could have an update as early as Monday morning.
Hopefully the Jets can figure out a way to improve to 2-2 in their next game. It would be incredibly healthy to have Hall at full strength to make that an easier task.
Next up for the Jets is a Week 4 matchup against the Bears. That contest kicks off at 1 p.m. ET on Oct. 4 from Soldier Field in Chicago.
