The New York Yankees were hit with some terrible injury news on Tuesday, when it was announced Aaron Judge will not play in their first Major League Baseball Playoffs series. New York is getting some good news though about the health of stars Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Clarke Schmidt.

“Jazz Chisholm Jr. is expected to be activated between games of the doubleheader, Aaron Boone said,” MLB.com reporter Bryan Hoch posted to X, formerly Twitter.

Hoch also announced pitcher Clarke Schmidt underwent testing on his biceps and looks to be in a pretty good spot. He has also battled injury.

“He will play catch today to see how available he can be,” Hoch posted to X about Schmidt.

New York is playing a doubleheader Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Yankees are currently second in the American League East, behind Tampa.
