The Philadelphia 76ers played the Charlotte Hornets at Spectrum Center earlier on Saturday in what turned out to be a close 109-104 victory for Nick Nurse's team. With both LeBron James and Joel Embiid sitting out, Jaylen Brown found himself involved in a scuffle with Charlotte’s Grayson Allen midway to the fourth quarter.
Both the players scrambled for a loose ball on the floor before the Hornets’ guard swiped it away, leading to a tangle as both players’ teammates got involved, per a post on X by ClutchPoints. Following a review, both were assessed double technical fouls.

Brown has not been at his fluent best for the 76ers as far as scoring is concerned, and finished the game with 16 points off 6-15 shooting. Philadelphia entered the quarter looking to mount a comeback from a 6-point deficit, and responded with a 32-21 quarter to take the game, their sixth win of the season.
With Embiid and LeBron missing, it was Tyrese Maxey who once again stepped out, continuing his impressive form at the start of the campaign. He finished with 38 points along with four assists and four rebounds, while Anfernee Simmons provided some much-needed punch off the bench.

VJ Edgecombe added 10 points and eight rebounds, with Allen himself leading the charge for the Hornets off the bench. He had 27 points and four rebounds while Brandon Miller added 24 points, five rebounds and five assists.
Naz Reid and Moussa Diabate were the only other Charlotte players to score in double digits, with 14 and 10 points, respectively. Philadelphia had room to improve on shooting, but were impressive from the three-point line, converting 14 of their 35 attempts for a 40% rate.
The 76ers grinding out their sixth win of the season means that they are now the top seed in the Western Conference, with the Detroit Pistons following close behind at 5-1.
