Coach Dabo Swinney faced a play sheet controversy this week as the Clemson Tigers faced off against Mike Norvell's FSU Seminoles in a game between two disappointing teams looking to end the season on a high note. Offensive lineman Elyjah Thurmon suffered an injury and was carted off the field as things got serious in a hurry in Tallahassee, Florida.

The Tigers forged ahead, leading 26-10 early in the third quarter on the strength of a banner first half from QB Tait Reynolds against coach Mike Norvell's FSU defense. Clemson only had two passing touchdowns heading into the day, but had two before halftime as they led the ‘Noles.

The Tigers continued to hold onto their lead as the third quarter wound down. They outgained Florida State slightly in their own building and also held the ball over seven minutes longer than their opponents entering the final stanza.

Both teams struggled mightily on third down conversions as the Tigers were 2-for-12 entering the fourth quarter and Norvell's Seminoles were 0-for-7.

Reynolds cooled off in the second half, and featured stats of 15-of-24 completions for 132 yards and two touchdowns. Tyler Brown and Olsen Patt Henry were the two top leading receivers for the Tigers as Henry snagged one of two scoring catches along with Christian Bentacur.

The Tigers aren't world beaters this year, but they haven't laid down and died yet with Swinney steering their ship toward uncertain waters. The Seminoles looked to be in far rougher shape as the night continued, with the Tigers enjoying a solid lead.
