Paul Skenes and Livvy Dunne brought a little Christmas spirit to Halloween, choosing a creative costume combination inspired by one of the holiday season's most recognizable movies. The Pirates ace dressed as Buddy the Elf, while his girlfriend took on the role of a Mrs. Butterworth's syrup bottle.

The couple shared their costumes on social media, bringing a holiday twist to Halloween. Their outfits paid tribute to the 2003 Christmas comedy Elf, starring Will Ferrell.

Skenes dressed as Buddy the Elf, complete with his signature green outfit, pointed hat, tights, and boots. He also carried a plate of spaghetti, referencing Buddy's unusual food combinations.

Dunne completed the matching theme as a bottle of Mrs. Butterworth's pancake syrup. Her costume referenced Buddy's love of maple syrup, which he famously adds to almost everything. Together, the pair playfully recreated one of the movie's most recognizable running jokes.

Away from their Halloween festivities, both have major developments in their respective careers. Skenes wrapped up his 2026 season with a 3.82 ERA and 200 strikeouts over 32 starts and 174.1 innings pitched, while limiting his walks to just 49. The impressive numbers further highlight his impact as one of Pittsburgh's most important pieces on the mound.

Meanwhile, Dunne is preparing for a new chapter outside gymnastics. The former LSU standout is set to make her acting debut in Fox's upcoming Baywatch reboot, where she will portray Grace in a recurring role. The series is scheduled to premiere on January 6, 2027.

For now, the couple gave fans a fun offseason moment, proving that even Halloween costumes can come with a holiday-season twist.
