After missing the last three races due to a wrist injury, Isack Hadjar will return to action this weekend for Red Bull at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Hadjar suffered the wrist injury while training during the annual August shutdown, forcing him to miss the Dutch Grand Prix, the Italian Grand Prix, and the first Spanish Grand Prix at the new circuit in Madrid, the Madring. That forced Red Bull to adjust the lineup at both the senior team and Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, with Liam Lawson sliding into Hadjar’s seat alongside Max Verstappen at Red Bull, and Yuki Tsunoda being activated from his reserve role to replace Lawson at VCARB.

During his second Red Bull stint, Lawson finished in the points twice, first with a P7 at the Dutch Grand Prix and then a P6 at the Spanish Grand Prix. As for Tsunoda, he scored a point for VCARB, with a P10 at the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.

The team confirmed Hadjar’s return in a statement, thanking Lawson for “his professionalism, dedication and hard work over the past three races:”

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix gets underway a day earlier than usual, with qualifying set for Friday and the race slated for Saturday.
