Diwali, India’s “Festival of Lights,” falls on Sunday, November 8, the same day as this year’ Formula 1 São Paulo Grand Prix.

To celebrate the nation’s most significant festival, Arvid Lindblad has unveiled a special Indian-inspired festibal ahead for the São Paulo Grand Prix.

“Celebrating Diwali with my family, especially my Nani and Nana, has always been a very important part of my upbringing,” said Lindblad in a release. “Bringing this special helmet to life is a meaningful moment, as it celebrates my Indian heritage and family roots that are such an important part of who I am. I was really involved in the creative process because I wanted to create something that felt cool, while staying true to the meaning and traditions of Diwali. The design brings together elements like rangoli, the lotus flower, diyas and fireworks in a way that feels personal to me.

“I can’t wait to get back in the car in Brazil wearing this helmet. I know it will be an emotional moment, and I hope the helmet helps share the spirit of Diwali with people celebrating around the world. Happy Diwali.”

The helmet integrates the diya, a symbol of Diwali that represents light, hope, and joy into the design both at the front and the rear. In addition, Lindblad’s helmet also contains two more elements associated with Diwali: the lotus, and fireworks. The lotus symbolizes “purity, resilience and the ability to rise above adversity,” while the fireworks reflect the celebrations enjoyed by families around the world.
