On Sunday, the New Orleans Saints picked up their first win of the season with a thrilling comeback win over the Baltimore Ravens on the road. It was the second straight week that the Saints had fought back from an early deficit to make things interesting late, and this time, they were able to pull off the road victory thanks to a late touchdown.

It was another strong game from quarterback Tyler Shough, who threw for 252 yards and a touchdown on 27-34 passing.

Now, one prominent analyst has weighed in on Shough's future as the Saints' key building block.

“If you're the New Orleans Saints, you have to feel really good about where you are with Tyler Shough … I don't think we've seen the best of him yet,” said Pete Prisco of CBS Sports, per NFL on CBS on X, formerly Twitter.

Shough's big game vs the Ravens came a week after he dismantled the Detroit Lions and nearly led New Orleans to a huge comeback win in that one, falling just short in overtime when a two-point conversion attempt was incomplete.

Still, Saints fans have to be thrilled about what they've seen from the quarterback so far this year, proving that his hot stretch of play toward the end of last season was no fluke.

New Orleans' membership in the NFC South means that they have a very realistic chance at making a playoff push this year even if they don't finish with a great record, and the fact that they've gone toe-to-toe with two teams expected to be elite this year to open up the season, and on the road, no less, is certainly an encouraging sign moving forward.
