Alabama State is gearing up for a huge SWAC East showdown when they face off against a vastly improved Bethune-Cookman University team. But it appears that Alabama State, projected to finish atop the SWAC East, will be without star quarterback Andrew Body. Body didn't play last week against Mississippi Valley, and it appears that he will miss Saturday's matchup against the Wildcats with a wrist injury

According to a report by Jaeden Day of the Montgomery Advertiser, Eddie Robinson confirmed that Jackson has a hard cast on his non-throwing wrist. Robinson also didn't give a timetable for Body's return during his weekly press conference on Wednesday.

“It's hard to say the timetable because we don't know how fast it will heal,”

Body suffered the injury in the team's Week 2 game against Troy. Body fell on his non-throwing hand, and his left wrist was wrapped. Although Alabama State didn't play the following week because of a bye, Body didn't suit up against Mississippi Valley State.

Andrew Body has established himself as one of HBCU football's premier talents, though injuries have shadowed much of his career. He went down in the Hornets' 2024 season opener at the Orange Blossom Classic against North Carolina Central, an injury that sidelined him for the rest of the year.

He bounced back in 2025, helping lead the Hornets to one of their best seasons in recent memory before another injury cut his year short late in the season. Even with the abbreviated campaign, Body threw for 1,770 passing yards and 20 touchdowns on one interception, adding 518 rushing yards and four more scores on the ground.
