With the Atlanta Braves winning another NL East divisional title, the team is looking to make their mark in the upcoming playoffs, adding another World Series to the team's legacy. As the Braves will take any boost for the playoffs, this MLB insider would speak on how big the return of relief pitcher Robert Suarez is for the team moving forward.

Suarez has been on the 60-day injured list (IL), dealing with elbow and forearm inflammation, but with the expectation of him returning this week, Jon Morosi would explain on “MLB Network” how much of a “huge deal” it is for Atlanta. Plus, Morosi would go as far as to say that Suarez is “one of the best relief pitchers in Major League Baseball.”

“The expectation is that Suarez will be back this week, which is not a moment too soon for one of the best relief pitchers in Major League Baseball,” Morosi said. “You love Suarez too because he's good against righties and lefties, because of the ability to get those weak swings with the ball going away from the lefties. He is so talented, and he is split-neutral. And when you talk about the way this bullpen can line up, if he then is pitching right in front of Iglesias, you're able to then potentially not have to extend Iglesias too much.”

More on the incoming injury return for Braves' Robert Suarez

In 31 games this season, Suarez has recorded a 0.56 ERA to go along with 26 strikeouts and four saves, with Morosi explaining how his return to the Braves makes the team “one of the deepest bullpens” in the NL.

“You love having three lefties there with [Dylan] Dodd, [Dylan] Lee, and [Brent] Suter. Smith-Shawver, of course, has started. Now he's in the bullpen,” Morosi said. “This all of a sudden becomes one of the deepest bullpens in the National League playoff picture…Robert Suarez coming back for the Braves is massive news.”

At any rate, it remains to be seen when Suarez officially returns to action for Atlanta, as there are six games left in the regular season.
