On Saturday, the Indiana football program picked up its second straight narrow win with an overtime home victory over Minnesota to push its record to 8-1 on the season. It wasn't a pretty performance for the Hoosiers, who needed an extra period for the second straight week, having narrowly defeated the Michigan Wolverines last week on the road.

At one point in the game, starting quarterback Josh Hoover was taken out of the game amid an apparent injury after throwing multiple interceptions, and was replaced by Grant Wilson.

After the game, head coach Curt Cignetti spoke on what went into that decision.

“Josh, obviously, took that hit at the end of the first half — I can't remember the exact moment I made up my mind [to make the change],” Cignetti said, per the Associated Press, via ESPN. “But Grant went in and did a good job.”

The Associated Press also reported that Cignetti didn't provide any additional details about Hoover's injury.

It was certainly dicey in Bloomington on Saturday, with Indiana having made it clear over the last few weeks that this is not the same team that won a national championship a year ago.

However, the Hoosiers are still (mostly) finding ways to win games this year, and it will be fascinating to see if Hoover is indeed benched moving forward in favor of Wilson, or if he was simply taken out of this game strictly for injury reasons.

In any case, Indiana will next hit the field against USC, fresh off a win over the Ohio State Buckeyes, on November 14, following a much-needed bye week.
