Indiana took a loss on Saturday, falling to Ohio State 19-15. This upcoming week, they will visit Michigan, which is coming off a win over Penn State. In the victory, Michigan benched quarterback Bryce Underwood, replacing him with Tommy Carr.

Michigan is not naming a starting quarterback for Saturday, but that does not matter to Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti. The Hoosiers coach is prepared for whatever man is behind center, per Clayton Sayfie of On3.

“I’d assume it would be him,” Cignetti said, speaking of Carr. It could be two quarterbacks on the field at the same time. That would not surprise me. They did that at Utah. And the other guy can make plays. Schematically, they didn’t change a whole lot in the second half.”

Carr came into the game and did well. He completed five of seven passes for 47 yards while also running for 36 yards and a touchdown. More importantly, Michigan scored 21 points with Carr on the field, after not scoring in the first half. He also did not turn over the ball. That is something Underwood did twice against Penn State.

The Michigan offense has been dreadful this year. They are 91st in points per game, while sitting 111th in yards per game. Further, their 1.8 giveaways per game is 122nd in the nation. Only seven teams have yet to pass for 1,000 yards this year. They are also the only power conference team to have failed to pass for 1,000 yards. Considering three of the other teams are Air Force, Army, and Navy, all of whom run the triple option, it is not a good club to be part of.

Despite the loss, Indiana is still a top team in the nation. They just need to avoid the same fate as Alabama and Texas, who dropped a hard-fought game one week, only to be defeated again the next.
